Recommended EC, TDS, pH for various plants

 

Different plants require different concentrations of nutrients. Measurement of “Electrical Conductivity (EC)” is a good way to check the concentration of nutrients in the solution. TDS is easily measurable, and is also a fair estimate of the EC.

Following is the guide for EC, TDS, pH for various types of plants.

An important point to note here is that following ECs are considering that the nutrient solution is made using “Soft water” with less than 100 ppm TDS.

Municipal water supply normally is soft, ie it has TDS < 100 ppm depending on your physical location.

Ground Water TDS can be much higher, in which case you need to reduce its TDS for use in Hydroponics.

GreenLoop‘s recommendations regarding use of full strength or reduced strength solutions are already available alongside the GreenLoop product descriptions, and these recommendations are consistent with the EC values mentioned below.
